Purse prize

A purse, also known as a handbag, is a woman's bag used for carrying keys, a wallet, and other personal items.

In English we have another completely different type of purse: money. In sporting competitions such as a horse race, golf tournament, or boxing match, the purse is an amount of money offered as a prize. For example, in a boxing match, not only do competitors battle for the glory of the winning title, they also fight for the purse, the money prize. That's a purse anyone can use!
