Do you know what an urban legend is? Typically they’re unusual, horrific, or humorous stories that are usually false and are passed along as if they were true. The Hook and The Babysitter and the Man Upstairs are two urban legends that I seriously believed when I was younger.
Of course, now that I’m an adult, I don’t believe such stories but, every once in a while, there is one character whose name is mentioned: Bigfoot. Named for the size of his footprints, Bigfoot, also called Sasquatch (by Native American Indians) is a large (2-3 m tall), hairy, ape-like creature who is supposedly found in northwestern America. There are people who officially record sitings of Bigfoot in the USA and Canada and there are 55 reports for my state of Wisconsin! When I was a child I lived in the countryside and often was afraid I woud see Bigfoot. I never did. I really don’t believe in Bigfoot. He’s an urban legend, right?
